Suppliers send price lists as long PDF\ncatalogs, Excel or CSV sheets, sometimes photos of printed pages. This plugin sends the file to\nthe MicroCity engine, which reads it into a table of rows and columns. You check that table in\nwp-admin, confirm which column is the product name, SKU, price, description, brand and category,\nand the plugin creates the products in WooCommerce as drafts.<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Review before anything is created: the rows read from your file are shown in a table, with the\ncolumn picked for each field (name, SKU, price, description, brand, category). Change any\nchoice before creating.<\/li>\n<li>Products are created as drafts \u2014 nothing is published without you.<\/li>\n<li>Brand: saved as a WooCommerce brand (WooCommerce 9.6 or newer), otherwise as a visible \"Brand\"\nattribute.<\/li>\n<li>Category: your existing product category with that name is used; if there is none, it is created.<\/li>\n<li>Sizes, lengths or colours of one product become one variable product with its variations (the\nattribute takes the column's name, or \"Option\" when the column has none).<\/li>\n<li>Multi-page PDFs are read page by page; the rows join one list.<\/li>\n<li>Products are created locally through WooCommerce functions \u2014 your WooCommerce keys never leave\nyour site.<\/li>\n<li>Uninstalling the plugin removes its settings (API key and service address).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3>External services<\/h3>\n\n<p>This plugin connects to the A2DB service at microcitylabs.com, operated by MicroCity\nSolutions Ltd (UK). When you upload a supplier file, the file and your A2DB API key are sent\nto the service so the engine can read the file and return structured product data. No other\ndata from your site is sent. Nothing is published without you.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20file%20types%20work%3F\"><h3>What file types work?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>PDF, Excel (xlsx\/xls), CSV, and images (scans or photos of printed pages).<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20it%20set%20stock%20quantities%3F\"><h3>Does it set stock quantities?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. Stock is left to you: set quantities in WooCommerce when you review the drafts.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"i%20installed%20an%20early%20download%20called%20%22a2db%20supplier%20import%22\"><h3>I installed an early download called \"A2DB Supplier Import\"<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Early downloads installed the plugin in a folder named a2db-supplier-import, which WordPress.org\ncannot update. Install this plugin from WordPress.org, then deactivate and delete the old copy;\nyour API key is kept. While the old copy is present, the plugin shows a notice on the Plugins\nscreen and on its own page. If both copies are active at the same time, this plugin pauses itself\n(your site keeps working) until the old copy is deactivated.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"my%20upload%20never%20finishes\"><h3>My upload never finishes<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Some hosting firewalls silently stall uploads whose file names contain unusual characters\n(spaces, \"@\" and similar).
